This was supposed to be a full video from start to finish but the lockdown has done a good job of halting activities. I figured I might aswell turn it into a two part video. Hopefully you find part 1 somewhat interesting.

Looking good so far, will be interesting to see how the validation goes. Certainly good velocity for that bullet and the shorter barrel and accurate.

@25 /08 IMP The 284 is currently shooting the 162 ELD-M at 2600fps using 2209. I had it at around 2700-2750 using rel 17. The rem mag seems to be about 2950, yet to be confirmed at range though.

162 @2600 from the 284 is perfect. Rem mag covers everything else

Hey what's the barrel lenght on your .284? Was it 17" from memory?

Yup 17”. I would go 18” with the new dpt mk2 magnum suppressor if doing it again.

Very professional and informative vid there mate , i just weighed my tikka 7 mrm and it went 3.894 but i have opilock mounts and Zeiss scope so bit heavier than your setup.
Also my DPT suppresser is there original magnum think they call it mk 1 now, it does get bloody hot after even 3 shots , but seems ok with the milder factory ammo i am using.
A suppresser like yours is something worth getting i think if or when i change to a warmer hand load in the furture . Cheers

@superdiver I don’t think the new mk2 suppressor would fit at 17” because it’s longer over the barrel so 18” sort of gives the same setup as what I have now with the Mk1 suppressor. And yea I guess a few more fps aswell is always handy haha.

Thanks mate! Yup they definitely get warm quick. Part of the light weight compromise I guess ay.

Thanks mate. My 284 currently shoots the 162 ELD-M in front of 53gr 2209 for 2600fps. Rel 17 with the same charge weights gave me an extra 100 - 150fps more but I never shot it at distance. I could probably change over but the 2209 load has been working good as gold.
