Geez my 6.5 was developed in 1891 and if it do it right I can still hit shit with it at one thousand yards
Must be wheel reinvention time again.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
So has anyone had any experience with these yet? I have heard of a few custom guns been made in that calibre. As far as factory offerings Sauer are chambering the 6.5 PRC that will arrive early next year.
Its pretty much a 6.5wsm. Holds more powder, has a little more velocity, a little less barrel life. Nothings for free.
While it doesn't do anything that the 6.5 saum or wsm does, (much like the 6.5 creed and 260/6.5x55/6.5x47l) it would be cool if it became mainstream and got some factory rifles and factory ammo readily available like the creed.
An off the shelf modern SA 6.5 magnum would be awesome
Meh, like jakewire, I'll stick with my Swede thanks.
Oh, I forgot I have a short little 6.5 as well.
Welcome to Sako club.
Tikka has the perfect platform to built rifles for that new round.
Agree.
Whilst the 6.5 Creedmoor doesn't do anything a 260 or 6.5x55 can't do, it has the big advantage of being well supported with good factory rifles and factory ammo that is built for the purpose most folk will use it for.
If the 6.5PRC has a good selection of reasonably priced factory performance ammo it will likely out last many of the other short fat 6.5s.
