And for those who don't do fb. Basically federal has announced for a release date of Jan 7 2025 that they will be offering the fastest 7mm factory chambering available.

Gotta say as a bit of a 7mm fan boy this does tickle my fancy to see what they've done.

Pointless.

Federal already beat Hornady at their own game by buying up all the RL26 that was left for commerical 7PRC ammo.

Unless they have a deal on with the big rifle names (doubt it will be a short action based catridge, unless they are doing something like the 277 FURY) then it will fail.

Also, bullets matter more than headstamps!

Sweet, at last some factory ammo for the 284.

Yay! another cartridge that will do about what the 7mm Rem mag will do, and that most people will find has too much recoil for them.

My SWAG [scientific wild ass guess] on it is a 6.5/7mm prc type standardized or a 68 western streched to 7mm called a 28 western .Which we wont get here because no one will bring it in the rifles its chambered for or supply ammo/brass ie the 68 western .

A 7-300 prc with a fast twist barrel… but I m not convinced it would be much better In case capacity than the already existing 7 stw, 7 rem ultra mag or 28 nosler.
Other wise if they want to go fast , they need to load a lighter copper projectile, and then they can zip at 3400 or beyond and make that claim.
