I just redid my Canadian passport as my last one expired in 2015.

What a rigmarole. Had to totally reapply as my expired passport was no use. They changed everything rule wise.

However after compiling everything and sending it off they said it would take 20 buisness days.
I had it inside a week.

Mine was a lost one. I had to get it, get my kiwi residence permit in it, Vietnamese visa in it and fly 48 hours after I realised it was gone. Had time to spare. I'd be double fucked now: the Brit embassy no longer does them, they have to go back to Manchester, and the INZ on Q St is now just a drop box. I'd say best case it'd be a month all up

That sucks. I got mine done at the Canadian consulate in Wellington.
But jezz they made it hard compiling all the proof and getting it verified.
I renewed my kiwi one a couple years ago and it was piece of piss.

So if your a Canadian living in NZ and you ever want to go back, make sure you renew your passport as it expires or within a year of it expiring to save a shitloads of stress.

Sealords got my first ever passport in around 30-40 hours where the norm at the time was 10-14 days.

You can pay money to have your passport issued in 48hrs. It used to be about an extra $250 fee. Anyone can do it. Used to get them for ships crews.
