I have a Finnlight II in .308 that I use with 180 gr bullets in a pretty warm load and the recoil doesn't bother me at all as the rifle has a good thick rubber recoil pad. It must be the design of the stock. Also, the adjustable cheek piece is a nice feature on Finn II.

Those Carbonlight stocks are supposed to be very tough according to these You Tube videos.

    I already own a VX6HD.

Have you got the 308 suppressed? @10-Ring

The price of those rifles pushes you into custom territory. Of course you should do whatever you want with your money, but why not give Greg at Terminator a call and see what he can do for similar money? That way you can have all the bits you want - custom action, cut rifled barrel and a good trigger.

T3 is 3 Kg in magnum configuration, so the Carbonlight and Finnlight cost much more considering the weight. I believe they have the same barrel as the T3 too.

Anyway, enjoy whatever you decide to get.

300wm is the grunt of those three. If you are running a brake then recoil is a non issue. 210vlds at 3000fps are hammers.
But 162s at 3k are also beautiful killers so either or at end of the day will do what needs to be done. Both those scopes are sweet, vx6 suits dialling a bit better though

Anyone of the three you mentioned are good for the job. The 300 Win Mag with the 200 gr plus bullets would have a slight edge over the WSM. I run 200 gr ELD X in my 300 Win Mag at 2900 fps and could load a bit higher, my nephew just got a Rem 700 300 WSM and we tried various loads the other day and using RL 26 got 2800 fps with the 200 ELD X. I get 3070 fps with the 162 gr ELD X in my 7mm Rem mag. I am sure they would all be fine out to 600 yards or further if needed.

My opinion is that the carbonlight is a bit over-priced. I would get a regular finnlight and put an aftermarket carbon stock on it. Admittedly there could be some hassles with this such as waiting for your stock to be made, then sending your rifle away for bedding. But you might save the better part of $1K...

Was considering 300win mag or 7mm rem mag for somethi g with longer legs than my 308. Got a second hand 7mm wsm with 30 rounds down it for load development, shoots 162 eld at 2995 and has 1050 ft/pb put to 1100yards, more than enough (lot further than i can shoot) or the other option i'll be looking i to is 140gr pills out to 400yards, sighted at 200yds gives 2" high at 200 and 4" low at 400, nice and simple 'point and shoot'

should add that i havent even got it in my hands yet so can't say how it goes on animals just played with ballistic charts...

vx6 great scope and leupold backup is outstanding
Warranty and backup exceptional with a Z5, Z6 and EL Range binos that all went back to the factory courtesy of Swaro NZ for a variety of reasons. None of these purchased in NZ either. My boys mate had a Z6i fog internally. Replaced no questions asked.

Buy Ryan's 270wsm and whack your vx6 on it. Load with 145eldx or the like and you will be knocking tahr off their feet out a long way plus you will cure any carbon addiction Haha. Much cheaper than the finnlite 11 or carbonlight with an aftermarket barrel included

Get a WSM, animals will find you just to have the privilege to be taken by the WSM

Yes, my mistake didn't see that about the scope.

No, not suppressed. I don't want to destroy the balance of the rifle (just my ears).
