Thanks to those who commented on the previous thread, I wanted to start something slightly different with more specific things I'm after.

1) I am set on 7x57/275 Rigby. It's the one calibre I've wanted since I was a wee tacker, I'm very aware there are similar calibres that are ballistically similar and easy to find.

2) has to be a wooden bolt repeater

3) has to come with open sights, more specifically I really want to eventually put a leaf sight on it. Not sure if that's something all rifles can have put on or whether they're different.

4) I don't have the money to go out and buy an m98 or Rigby and co. so it's got to be reasonable enough that my wife doesn't leave me.

I know ruger and Winchester do them but not a fan, read enough to steer me off voere, still undecided on roessler and that's about where I am at.

Any other suggestions for makes?

Aware that this is an old thread, but I would agree with the suggestion that a Zastava would meet your criteria.

These are new production Mauser design commercial actions. That is they are not cut-away on the left receiver wall for charger loading.
