    New sauer 101 carbon

    Hi,
I just saw that this is being released in Europe .
Weight wise it could be a serious contender to few current rifles and customs, provided the price stays reasonable.

2.5kg as a bare rifle? It will need a good price point. I guess it would be a good package setup ready for rings and optics. Might leave some to be desired? Who knows!

Could do with a bit of as tune up on the English translation:
"features that guarantee liability and accuracy out of the box"

I wonder what that Diamond like coating is ? On the metal, I suppose ?

I ll tell you what, the translation of the German to English of the Sauer manual is so chocking. I can't believe they let it be printed without proper proof reading . They could have gotten inspiration from the tikka/ Sako manuals.

    Won't be stainless.
    Might be Cerakoted steel.

Are they still a press fit barrel? Be awesome in l
Somthing like 6.5prc but it's a lot of money for a rifle system that will start to deteriorate accuracy after 1k rounds

I had a synthetic 101XT but the LOP was about 30mm more than standard, plus the recoil pad was a shocker. I cut the butt down and fitted a limbsaver, [don't know how this would go with carbon]
Just mentioning this as you might be better off to just get your barrel fluted and get a custom Carbon fibre stock.
101 has a very nice trigger and action etc. and Nick D Yeah I would assume the barrel is still press fit but if you love it enough apparently you can thread for another barrel.
