The zeiss hd5 will probably be better than the vortex, vortex has good turrets not sure what zeiss are like.

    Zeiss is slightly heavier

I have a Leupold 4.5-14x40 and the tunnel vision is terrible on it, compared to my Vortex HST 4-16x44 or Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 the FOV is crap.
It's nice and light considering it's 30mm, but I don't think I'd bother with any other x3 magnification scopes in the future.

On the other hand, after using a mates VX6 2-12 I definitely see a 3-18x44 in my future!

Having looked through the Vortex LH HD on last light the other night and for a few hours light prior to that, I think your money would be better spent on something else. I wanted to like it and almost drank the kool aid, but real world I would have felt a bit hollow dropping $1600 on one.

I have heard the VX3I's are great but have not looked through one, I have a VX6 in the post now and I cant wait to get it!

So it has poor glass, wrong tube size, the wrong reticel and will be on the piss anyway, wont be as good as an HD5 , or a vx3.
What bunch of grumpy old knockers.
Looking forward to getting one now and seeing koshkins full review.

I very nearly bought a Viper HST a while back, I thought it was pretty neat, then the old bloke in the shop suggested that for my needs a VX3 with CDS would be a better choice, I looked through the VX3 and it really made it quite clear how terrible the glass on the vortex was, went with the VX3

And could well prove to be which was my point but that apparently has gone over your head.

For the sake of a little "clarity" (heh) this scope carries the Razor label. So comparisons to cheaper models like crossfire , diamondback, viper etc are of little relevance really.
    heres a quote from Koshkin
"In terms of comparables, this scope is really most similar to Zeiss Coinquest HD5 2-10×42 and early indication suggest that it might walk all over it. "

Early indications suggest whales might beat NZ in tonight's game, but we ended up smashing them.

I have two Vortex 50 mm Vipers and I'm very happy for the bucks I paid, there's always better and it's only money that makes the diff in quality, oh and country of manufacture!

    Well said Mr Sneeze,
Little point in comparing a Razor to Viper, Diamondback or Crossfire series.
