Thread: Nightforce 2.5-10x42

Well I’ve managed to source one - 2.5-10 NXS that is, thanks to one of the members here.

Everything in life is a compromise, period. Like choosing a woman, it just comes down to what are your non-negotiables and what you can put up with. I fully accept that the NF glass won’t compare to whatever top tier euro you want to name, but that’s not on my essential list. It’ll be at least as good as the VX3s that I’ve used for years, so that’s all good. My non-negotiable is ruggedness and reliability. Certainly ticks that box! I have no need for 20x magnification -tick. No desire for a 50mm objective as they are just so bulky -tick. Yeah I’m going to lose out on a few minutes of shooting light, but I’m the very very slight chance that am actually in the position where I can’t shoot at my trophy of a lifetime because of low light- well he’s going to still be around tomorrow.
It would be great if it weighed 10oz, but as Boris the Blade once said ‘heavy is reliable. If it doesn’t work, you can always hit him with it’ and I’m happy with the 20oz that it is. It’s going to get used hard, and 4oz or so more to carry is the price I’m happy to pay for the confidence that it’ll be on zero every time I need it to be.

The weight on the NXS 2.5-10x42 isn't that bad compared to the other bigger NXS nightforce scope.
