    nightforce vs sightron

was recently told that sightron is made same place as nightforce , first question is this true? if so are sightron old tech nightforce or is there major quality difference or is it like pams cheese where its the same product in different packaging to get low end market as well?

First I have heard of this. Curious to know if its true but I thought sightron was made in Japan? And Nightforce US? I run sightron on my target rifle and 338LM and they are superb scopes for the coin. Accurate clicks and return to zero and great glass.

Its my understanding that the Sightron and Nightforce both source their glass from the same Japanese factory (along with other manufacturers). The Sightron scopes are made in Japan to the specifications of Sightron (which is based in the US). Nightforce are assembled and tested in the US.

I think only the Compact line of NSXs are made/assembled in the states, the bigger ones (50 & 56) are made in Japan

I think the Mil-Spec line of Nighforce scopes will be made in the States. I think there is some law that states anything used by/for the Military has to be american made? That was why Premier Reticles assembled the USMC S&B scopes. Could be wrong but I think it's correct.

Light Optic Works (LOW) will be the manufacturer in Japan I would imagine.

That thread is over 4 yrs old.. meh?

I'll put a Pie and a Powerade on the fact the glass is NOT the same.
There is a distinct difference in contrast between the 2 when viewed side by side
Nissan makes the GTR and Micra - prob in the same factory - cant even get close as a comparison

Yep she's old as, just thought I'd throw it up,
Yep I don't believe the two can even be compared either, it's obvious which is better and why

Gotta say , does it really matter if you get an extra 5 min viewing time and is it worth the xtra coin to get it, personally I go for repeatability and dependability .

Mate that last five minutes is when I seem to get most of my deer. Was badly let down by the NF last week watching a stag under a tree at dusk the NF could see it enough just.
It was clear as through the sawro el binos.
Since brought a premier to fix this problem
