    Norinco JW15s Feeding Issue

So I have this norinco .22 it doesn't feed properly.
It did this since I bought it, never bothered to take it back.
When I load the mag and circle the rounds usually the bullet either is point too far up above the chamber or its not coming up enough (Below the chamber).
Sometimes if feeds fine but sometimes not, which is a pain when I have to take a follow up shot.

    Anyone else seen this happen?

5 shoot mag? Could be how you're loading them in. I know they're a nightmare to load. Did you dismantle and thoroughly clean the grease out of the mag when you got it?

There are some old threads on this rifle, sounds like you need to do some work on the mag, a tweak here and a tweak there, I had one the same that pissed me off for years, I read all about the mods and got mine working mint

Have a search on the other forum too, even NZ rimfire forum

Change your ammo, my brno mod 1 will not feed cci mini mags, win silvertips work sweet!
The shape of the projectile causes them to either stick in the mag or then jump up above the chamber, my cz452 won&t feed cci subs, everything ekse works great!

haven't cleaned the inside of the mag...
I spent 10mins looking at how to dismantle the damn thing and hammer was the only thing that came to mind...

The bottom plate of the mag slides off. Takes a good amount of force. Either that or spray the absolute hell out of it with brake clean. I use CCI solely in all my 22's and a dang good clean fixed my jw15 issues.

I thought the bottom was welded in. I'll give it a scrub tonight.
Hopefully that sorts it out. If not, a 10 round CZ 452 mag sounds like a solid replacement.

yep, 5rd steel mag problem. The 10rd ones from CZ are premo and cheaper than the 9shot steel Norinco ones GC sell. LOL

True that... Seems the polymer are ok too...
I'd still go with the metal. Reloaders have them for $79, which is solid.
To be honest I'd got for a complete new CZ .22 rifle but for a plinker Norinco does the job at a reasonable price...

My norinco mag does the same thing as yours also, although it's 12+years old and I'd say has never been cleaned once.. Let me know how you get on with yours...

Make sure you note how the mag comes to bits and which way round the guide and spring are, most important! They only work one way

Don't use any lube, except graphite on the mag when reassembling, no grease or oil!

I had a 15 round Stirling that did this. A quick little mod to the guides(bend them in a little and the front I think) and all good.
