I have a 30 nosler in load development with alpine precision at the moment. Really excited to see the results.

No experience with the 26 Nosler's but both the 28 and 30 Noslers, the 28 Nosler is a barrel burner for sure but is a great option for a big 7mm if barrel life isn't a concern.
For that reason my personal long range rig (below) is a 30 Nosler as i was too much of a pussy to use a Proof for a 28 Nosler, so far have only run the 215 Bergers in it but will be testing some 225 ELD-M's in it also and have got @cameronjackwhite one to do and also a 28" inch barreled version on a Sako black wolf just finished up for a gong gun for another customer.
So in short yes happy as especially with the 30 Nosler's performance and the ADG brass i have solves the issue of the over the top expensive Nosler brass.
Gulp.
Good to hear some real world barrel burning experience. Well, not good.
When I calculated the QL "weighting factor" for the 28 I was a little taken aback, the factor being a measure of "overbore-ness" and a reasonable proxy for a barrel life warning. Its very low, lowest I've ever modelled I think. So I went to Pierre vd Walt's barrel life calculator, which returned a precision barrel life of ~700.
Its about 1100 for the 30.
Oh well, once a rifle is dialled in, I wonder how long it would take to shoot 500-600 rounds? Quite long probably, considering the intended use. Spread the cost of a new Bartlein over a couple of years, well compared to life in general is isn't really that bad I 'spose.
Just...say...the...word
Worth checking out 7mm BM while you are pondering options. Very efficient cartridge. Not quite the speed of the 28N but it’s burning a lot less powder & burn barrels.
Blaser mag does the trick. 180@3k is plenty
Nice stag and rifle Pongo12
Hi from CHCH...I have just has a 26 Nosler built by hardy rifle engineering (only place i could find with the reemer !!) #5 contour varmint barrel finished length 29 inches...just went down the range last week using norma brass, federal 215 primers ,US 869 powder 91 Grains with 135gr berger classic hunter (G1 BC .584 G7 .303) dopler radar at 3500 fps (3550 FPS max) im still load developing the bergers like 80-90 thou jump (see attached target) i just have to duplicate the results and fine tune them ill post results in another week if people interested regards alan
Hi 1 in 8 twist ... the berger 135 gr is the best ballistic compromise being G1 .584 and G7 .303....tried enough bullets id wear the barrel out testing and load developing
Hi the berger 135 gr is the best ballistic compromise being G1 .584 and G7 .303 you can shoot these fast..while the 143 hornady eld-x has better BC you cannot drive them as fast having said that i do have 20 of them to try out !!
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.
