Have purchased from Taihape sports , Broncos, and have seen the boxes of well priced Leupold and Sig scopes at 55Six. Would happily support any of these guys again.

The best shop in Auckland to buy scopes and anything gun related is Reloader supplies in Onehunga. Mike there is really helpful. They will give you the best price. Bushnell have drastically reduced the price on some of their optics. The price at another gun shop. After telling me the retail was $400. Said we could bring it in for $300. Mike at Reloaders gave me a price on the exact scope $140. Less than half the price of the other shop. Excuse the pun, but the guys at Reloaders are straight shooters. Through and through.

Are Swarovski really worth the money? If so, who is best for handling them?

There are diminishing returns with everything. You certainly don't need swaro glass, but if the best is what you want, you'll have to cough up the dough. I don't think anybody's regretted Swaro glass (Or Leica, Zeiss, Kahles, S&B etc).

I've always bought Swaro stuff through Hunting and Fishing Tower Junction (Christchurch). I've found that every H&F store isn't the same, and it pays to do business with a person rather than the chain itself, if that makes sense? I've been served by the same guy for several years, and he's super reliable and always gets things sorted at the drop of a hat.

On the contrary, I've dealt with some H&F stores which I'll never set foot in again (i.e the majority).

Our very own @Sarvo is bloody brilliant if you're after Leica Optics. He also does a range of other brands. Hands down the most reliable trader I've ever dealt with and a good bastard.
    Flick him a PM.
