Some great points raised. It seems there may be a shortage more so of rimfire. Checked in the local stores today and there seems to be a stack and its still coming in.

Greetings Outlander,
Glad to know you have made adequate provision for an interesting old rifle as I anticipated. I am like you (including the old age) and seem to have ample supplies of components for the foreseeable future. Prices have certainly moved on since I paid 30 bob ($3.00) for a packet of CAC factory soft points.
Regards Grandpamac.
For what it's worth , a lot of imported product is suffering from A shortages & B horrific price increases.
Some of it is Political but most is that Factories can't get raw supplies & staff . Plus the increased cost of operating in a Pandemic environment.
Including problems with reliable economic Freight.
It probably isn't going to improve anytime soon.
Mmm... just bought some ammo. Had plenty in 243 and 223 which often is a little low and they told me doesnt appear to be a problem yet in sourcing it.
That was two weeks ago thou
Not quite a NZ wide shortage....my ammo boxes are chocka
But yes the stores around here only have aguila or ficcoshi .22 ammo.
Hasn't been any Winchester or CCI for a while now and likely to be a while longer before it returns.

Its not what you get but what you give that makes a life !!
All good down this way !
To understand what is happening you have to understand what is happening . There is a perfect storm of Covid 19/Riots/BLM/Antifa/ Proud Boys ect and an election the media is trying to paint as a Democrat win. All this has added up to an estimated 5,000,000 new Gun owners who if on average buy 50 rounds each equals 250,000,000 rounds and then 140 million ? current gun owners decide to buy ? extra rounds for the coming shortage/Civil war it just goes on and on . And manufacturers just cannot keep up .
Moving some of my PMC 222 ammo and noticed the price stickers had $14 on each box, I guess I didn’t buy them yesterday. Just an observation...
I think every 22lr owner wishes that, we still have that aussie stuff floating about in the UK due to our stupid ammunition limits (some poor buggers can only possess a hundred or two rounds each time, exceeding by one means license gone!).
Local dealer has a few cases of the stuff left at a fair price so I'm stocking up after payday.
Curious as to what primers most are using as that is what seems to be drying up fast in the States (manufacturer demand means no excess for reloaders).
Assuming ADI supplies most of your powder and they make primers too?
I think I'll be stocking up on the Federal GMM small and large rifle primers but everything else is still flowing freely, reloading not particularly popular here, most cans of powder in a shop will have come in 2-3 years ago.
For Sale.
Part box of CCI subsonic .22lr. $100 ono + freight.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.
I go to my local most weekends and buy a box or two of 22mag ammo. CCI ammo seems to be in short supply but I always manage to get some.
Pretty pricey at 30 odd bucks for 50 rounds but its worth it for the damage it does to the rabbits
Patience Is A Virtue
I work in a large retail shop . Steves did get their order just not all of what they ordered was sent...and yes the cost has risen ( international freight mainly )
Covid 19 disruptions for production at all levels from the lead and copper to the freight of such as well has smashed the production timeframes of ammo.
Plus all the protesting in the USA along with the upcoming elections has driven firearms and ammo inc primers powder etc sales to record levels.
Theres bits and pieces coming in here and there but its going to be a bit tough till the USA and the rest of the world sort themselves out
I stocked up on 22 ammo about 3 or 4 shortages ago and figure I should be alright till the next one ?
All Im short on is brass, projectiles and a rifle to shoot them in.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
