    Hi team

So yes, this was a one off run for NZ only. We have had 400 arrive. 340RH and 60LH.
If this goes well we will try to do at least one if not two a year. These landed about two weeks ago and rifle only orders went to stores first as there was a slight delay elsewhere for some other parts. So the packages have gone out this week.
308 is the only cal available as there was concern in the market around 7mm08 ammo, so the trade was only happy to commit to 308.

The 16” configuration has been going back and forward with Finland for a number of years, and they have only signed off using the New D18 barrel profile. This is slightly heavier (still less than 100g) than a standard super light barrel, but keeps the product development team happy.

All of these rifles have been accuracy tested as well. I have shot mine with both the 150gr Gamehead pro and 123 Gamehead. Both shoot 0.6” and have the exact same point of impact.

$1899 for the rifle only and $2699 for the package. Available at every Beretta stockist (if they haven’t sold out) we do not have any left in stock as all were taken up by the trade.

Just a bit of info for you guys.

What twist was the barrel on these factory 308 tikka's if they were 1-8 that would be a "thing"

It’s what the trade wanted and majority of shooters. We have to commit to an order of 400plus to get a run, so majority wins in these cases I’m afraid.

My standard T3 with 16” barrel stabilises and shoots 190gn subx very well.

@mcche171 what was the concern from tikka with the 16" barrel? Plenty of tx3 lites here in nz with docked barrels that shoot without issue? Im curious?

Agreed BUT if you want to "play" ooops I mean use proper hunting projectiles that expand properly then a 1-8 is needed (which still shoots everything else well by the way).

I can understand the reasoning for need 400 as a minimum order. And its a really nice rifle the "bush one"

My Tikka also shoots well but the barrel is not a Tikka one but is a "made in NZ" one
An off the shelf factory one would have been my preference but such is life.

Hi. Short barrels like that on a mass scale is not something they see in Europe often. They also hold a lot of liability, so have to think about what ifs? Ie if someone put an over pressured reload into a short barrel with a blockage etc. they were more comfortable with the D18 as it is thicker around the chamber and believed a short stiffer barrel would be more forgiving with a range of ammo for accuracy guarantee.

Can confirm the following results from my guns

    Sako 123gr Gamehead 0.56”
    Sako 150gr Gamehead Pro 0.53”
Sako 165gr Gamehead Pro 0.4” (estimate) I did not retrieve target

All shot same POI! So accurate enough for a pig

use 150grn pills and it is nearly as good at 30 yards as Gibos .308w and 200yards and NO ONE will say thats underpowered.... or even Dustys 300 mag at 400 yards

its a poor comparison to be honest....... both are well capable to 150 yards with open sights...both are great at 50 yards..but unless you reload the dirty30 has it over the wee ruski in projectile weight.

I loved carrying my wee x39mm...and shot quite a few animals with it..no trouble at all..BUT my usual hunting spot has a lookout clearing 250-350yards away depending on which end of clearing...and I do shoot deer there..the wee cartridge would have struggled and I have better able to do it rifles in cabinet so on sold it.
a month back I missed two reds with open sights in same block...again just too far for rifle I was carting around that day.
