I've used both Cameraland NY (as others mentioned - worth keeping an eye on their specials) and Optic Zone. Both shipping standard hunting scopes no questions asked. Not sure on anything classified as "Tactical".

FWIW Camera Land have a sale currently so might be worth shooting them an email

Not to necro a slightly older thread - it seems CameralandNY does not ship overseas other than Canada? Was looking around their site to search for scopes but shipping to NZ is not an option anymore. Will that be correct?
Yeah, their website seemed to have changed about 4 weeks ago when I tried to buy a Sightron 4-20x STAC.
It now specifically states no international shipping to NZ or Australia and on the drop-down menu, NZ is no longer listed.
I contacted @Tahr about it as he recommends the company, but he never got back to me.
A good job and a good wife has been the ruin of many a good hunter.
Yes, you did. 18 Feb. I will answer now.
They do seem to have dropped exporting to NZ.
I messaged them about 2 months ago to say that their site wouldn't accept my NZ visa - their reply was that there was nothing wrong their end. NZ was still on their check out list then.
So something has changed.
I have emailed them to find out for certain:
Hello,
I am a repeat customer in New Zealand.
Are you still supplying to New Zealand? New Zealand seems to have dropped out of your country list?
I wish to make an order
Thanks

I purchased 2 x 4-20x50 Sightron S-Tac's off them a couple of months back, my FIL got one too, as did another couple of guys on here. I had no drama, arrived in about 15 days from order. A couple of the others took a bit longer, and another member on here has issues with his scope being sent to an address in the US somehow and he had a big run around to try and sort it.
Doug and Joel?? At CameralandNY epitomise customer service. Excellent. Tried to pop in while I was in New York - turns out bigger city than Rangiora near me.

Shame.
I ordered a Burris HD off them in late December, one of those open box specials. It took 5+ weeks to arrive as USPS had subbed it out to a 3rd party mail service, this could be part of the reason Doug has ceased to offer.
Bonus was for me, the Burris came as a new in the box with sealed wrapper. Thanks Doug & Team.
I to have used most of the above
I am currently contemplating about whether to buy this

Whats the go with an import permit for rifle scopes?
Customs says on its website that scopes are now included as a firearm "part". excerpt from website below. Where as I couldn't find a definition in the arms act to suggest scopes are included. Any advice on this?
There is a new definition for ‘part’. Anything that attaches to a firearm is now considered a part and requires a permit to import. This includes integral parts of the firearm, such as barrels and trigger group parts, as well as other items like scopes, sights, butt plates and slings, that attach to a firearm but are not integral to their use.
Shooting accessories such as reloading supplies and gun cases do not require a permit to import.
