Thread: Owl optics/Howa Mini action rail

I'm looking to get a rail for the Howa Mini Action I have on the way. Owl seem to have a very competitive price on the 20moa EGW rail. I note from the Gunworks site that EGW do a "Heavy Duty" and "Non Heavy Duty" version, 20 moa and 0moa.

Questions:

- Has anyone dealt with Owl Optics, and are they reliable etc?
- What on earth is the go between "Heavy Duty" and "Non Heavy Duty"? It's a mini-action after all, not a rem mag
- Any recommendations as to a possible alternative to the EGW? (20 moa was just what was in stock, 0moa or 20 moa doesn't concern me really), just after a rail instead of bases.

I had a 20 MOA EGW rail on mine (since sold) and it worked fine and looked way better than the shitty mounts they come with which overlap the ejection port (a pet hate of mine), I got it locally and as I recall it was at least $20 less than Gunworks, however I struck the right bloke and that price was discounted off normal . . . .

Remy 700 talley's also fit nicely and a weaver #79 mount will also mean the rear mount doesn't overlap the ejection port. I have both for sale if you want to PM me.

@Tommy so what did you go with in the end? I’m considering a picatinny rail too for ease of optics choice due to eye relief.

If faregame cant help you out with a egw rail, Ken at 55six has them listed as in stock. On my howa mini I just run Rem700 weaver bases and some egw or qd leupold rings. It was more a case of what I had in the parts box than going out to buy specific mounts.

Basically none in stock at all
Everything is way slowed with the ‘rules’
