I thought that because it still looks high capacity it's classed as E cat, I did ask how can that be, but told it was legal and thats good enough for me.

But i'm pretty sure i can't go and pin a 30 round mag to 5 rounds and still class my MR1 as a A cat.

Or are there different rules on pinning 22lr vs Centrefire Magazines

    Confused????
This is the same Serious Shooters who said my 7 round AR mags look like they could hold 8 or more, so were E-Cat?

Pot, kettle, black comes to mind.

I had a burn on one last weekend. Definitely had blocked off 22 round mags.

Is the carbine model ruined like the gun city ones??

    I want a real Mp5 clone in 9mm. or .357 Sig, that'd be awesome!

The Guncity ones are definately modified with the magazine cut just below the 22 round indicator then blocked off to 15 rounds. I would be interested to see if the Serious Shooters ones are as well.

The Serious Shooters ones are full 22 round mags with some kind of plastic block in them.

Like .357 sig is ridiculous, but it's such a cute little silly bottlenecked case

No Idea how it could happen. I wouldnt want to be an importer caught attempting to short cut the process though.

Shat up how? I fired the SD version. The open sights are total garbage, but that is because H&K sued the fuck out of GSG for cloning the diopter sight, so they had to change to the shit ones. It basically feels like how you described it - an airsoft gun that shoots .22lr.

The US wholesale price for a GSG 522 with a pinned 10 round Mag and pinned collaseable stock is $US299. They hit NZ shops at $1499. They are a cheap gun sold at extortionate prices - hence my interest in what is happening with the "process".
