Claims that he only had a .22 in the car..... plenty of evidence at the moment and there was more than one person in the car so it will be a race to see who rats on who as no one will want the blame for this.

I have a QC looking into it. The same QC who prosecuted a poaching ring so they know their stuff and there are multiple charges that will be laid on top of the poaching charge.
Well that’s nice he’s been in touch and admitted that he was there.

Regardless of the rifle being a .22 or .308 he had no legal right to be shooting from his vehicle on a public road!

He also had no authority to be shooting into someone’s private property regardless of the animal that was shot without permission.

Sounds to me like the guy has made contact in order to do some damage control and avoid the courts!

    I'll say this.

    Yes. To all the above.

Also, we live in some pretty shitty times right now so some people will be desperate and I get that.

If you need something that you don't have, then ask. The land owner is one of the most generous people I know.

He's hard working and takes nothing for granted.
He also does not want an unknown armed random shooting around his house or property particularly in the middle of the night.

    It gets worse.

Just heard from the land owner.

They've just found the deer dying still after all this time. They shot him in the face and left him for dead.

If anyone knows who owns a grey Suzuki with rego BCR281 please Pm me.

    Cheers

Pretty easy to do, you can log in and get your plate restricted so VTNZ/AA etc can't look it up (the HeadHunters were using various employees to look people up), most police, corrections, customs etc type people are by default I believe. I've done it to my family cars because I don't fancy a visit by feral shit having been spotted at a gun shop or a range etc.

Put this info on the NZ Poacher Watch page, you should get a name pretty quick, 9000 members, some pretty good results have been had to date Last few posts have seen names in as little as 10 mins, usually within a day

Hmmm, interesting. I dont think I'm being paranoid to say that makes a fair bit of sense. Have you seen any downsides in dealing with insurers or car purchases etc like they mention on the webpage?
