    PTG Bolt Import

Has anyone had any experience importing a PTG bolt from the US? Thinking about importing one if it is not to much of a run around.

Mine came via Mitch Maxbury to replace a factory bolt rooted by another gunsmith.

Came to $933.89 fitted including freight both ways Nelson to Wellie and back.
Was well worth it not had one single extraction failure since in over 1800 rounds fired using the load data provided with rifle from original supplier.

    Bolt ordered 3/2020, Arrived 6/2020

    Look at Mac Bros.

PTG has a terrible rep for taking money and not producing the goods.

Also, their designs are not an improvement over the standard Rem bolts. Had a rifle with one fitted when I bought it second hand. Material finish was poor, timing off and incorrectly headspaced by the idiot who installed it.

Ditched it for a standard Rem bolt and it was much improved.

If you're talking about a Remington 700, it's not that different!

I also got one thru Mitch Maxburry long time ago now. Took an age but Mitch was great. Only problem I have with the bolt is that the top side of the handle is very prone to corrosion. It has a patina on it. Does'nt bother me but looks a bit scruffy.
