Pulsar XQ35 vs Pard TA 32-35

After some deliberation, I've decided the next thing I need to get is a Thermal Handheld, a truly invaluable tool for when you have hunting access on private farmland. The two options that meet the parameters (Aka, what I can afford ) are the Pulsar XQ35 and the Pard TA 32-35. After some reading on each website it seems the Pard is higher spec than the equally priced Pulsar, however the people I know who own handhelds all swear by Pulsar and speak down on everything else, I have a suspicion this is ignorance, from the days when Pulsar was THE thermal brand (similar to how people that no nothing of Leds talk up Led Lenser, but have no clue of their dated tech compared to brands like Maxtoch)

Let me know what you think, is my suspicion correct? Should I be leaning towards the Pard or get the tried and true Pulsar as I've been recommended to do by mates that own them

Absolutely get the pard I use them for work and rate them, there is a range finding hand held coming out shortly so I’d wait for one of those. The pards specs are better.

try the conotech tracer lrf 35 . i ran a pulsar xd38s handheld for years and it was great but after trying the contech realised that my pulsar was a bit old tech and the tracer was awesome ,even better it had a built in range finder . the other good one ive tried is the guide 35pro. another really good bit of kit

i have a pulsar axion 2 xq35lrf handheld, and a xq35pro scope on one of my rifles. had a few pulsar thermals over the years, as to wether pard equivalent is better - no idea sorry, havent tried a pard. what i have now is more than capable for everything i do, handheld for spotting and ranging animals, then scope to get a better look & shoot. shot deer out to 400m with the xq35pro and had no trouble doing so or identifying target. handheld identifys deer out to 800 odd meters not a problem, my old helion xq38f? i think it was, had a clearer picture but i sold that as i wanted a rangefinder version and i didnt need the picture quality to be as good as it was. i havent had any trouble with the pulsar stuff.

Rangefinder in a thermal is more than useful. You’ll realise this once you buy a thermal without one.

We recently lost the Thermtec distributorship to another thermal importer so are disposing of thermal stock on TM at $1 reserve if you are looking for a thermal bargain.

Just because its always nice to have more options, the new Hikmicro Falcon FH25 is in that price range and a pretty decent bit of kit, easily found some deer in the tussock 1600m away

Suggest talking to Ken at 55six re Conotech. He's an expert in night vision. I have a Conotech lrf 35. Great to use. Range finder on scan is instant and magic.
