    Rem 700 LA value

    Hi all,

What's a bare 700 long action with a 270/30-06 bolt worth these days?

    Cheers

It was a pretty broad question as I'm not too fussy.
Just weighing up my options for my next project, do I go rem, tikka or even an old mauser, just needs to be long action and 30-06 bolt face

What cartridge are you going to chamber the rifle in?

    338-06 is the plan.
@Micky Duck, I didn't realise you could get them new without a barrel until I looked just now, that could be a good idea unless something else doesn't pop up cheap

Cool, I'd like to do one myself one day. I have a Tikka and a Brno that would be suitable when the time comes.

I have an old 338 lapua barrel with enough length to cut and rechamber, so I'm half way there

Can you buy Howa actions only without barrels?

I'd almost keep that as is and build on my rem 270 instead!

That Husky looks like a very tidy example, definitely worth the $500. Would be a pretty simple rebarrel job to change to the 338-06. And keep the original barrel should you ever want to change it back.
