    Remington 600 Rebarrel?

I am looking to rebarrel my dad's old Remington 600 .243 as the accuracy has gone to sh*t, and possibly get the action trued and a bedding job done too. The old boy isn't too well and I want him to see it shooting good again while he's still around. It's been his deer rifle for 40+ years and will be mine for the next 40. Anyway, can anyone recommend a good gunsmith that still rebarrels with blued barrels? I notice a few state they only do stainless. I want a high quality barrel, True-Flite, Shilen, etc. and it has to be blued finish to maintain the guns original look (minus the vent-rib along the top of the barrel which has been removed). I was thinking of contacting True-Flite directly but from reading their website I get the impression they only do gunsmithing work when they're not too busy making barrels...

I have a stainless .243 barrel here that I took off a brand new remington model 7 and will screw straight on to it. It's brand new never fired

It's yours for free if you would like it.

C.T you could get this SS barrel cercoated to make it look more like a blued barrel.

The mod 7 barrels have a nice thin profile and would suit the 600 well I would think.

You are a generous man Andew, good on you.

10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Yep was wondering about SS coating option. Used a 600 in 243 for years myself - great little setup and perfect for north island.

That is a very kind offer! Like GWH said I guess I could get it cerakoted in a deep blue to try and match the action. If you don't think you'll ever have a use for it then i'd happily take it off your hands. Where abouts are you located?

I'm in Auckland so that might have to be the case. I'll send you a private message with my work address and if you let me know how much it costs i'll transfer enough money into your account to cover the courier and a nice cold box of beers.
