    Remington model 5 .22(zastava)

I've been looking at a remington model 5 in local H & F store, it is made by zastava, Serbia. Looks well made and a nice laminated stock $500 in used but very good condition. I want to use it for iron sight competitions I have a scoped cz452 that is very accurate how does the model 5 stack up.
Any thoughts or reviews from other forum members appreciated .

I had one of these in 17hmr. Pretty nice rifle to use, but definitely well on the heavy side for a rimfire. Mine was never that accurate, but I've read a few other accounts of them being accurate rifles, so that may have just been my particular rifle. Seem to remember that the action and trigger etc was all nice enough to use, I don't remember having any complaints about that. They definitely are a nice looking rifle though.

Bought and sold mine for $450.

They are different , and nicely made , BUT as you have a good rimfire in the CZ , why not standise on CZ , get another CZ with irons , then you can share mags etc .

Saw this in the shop and thought if they are a good straight shooter I can set up for iron sights only it would suit me. My CZ has no irons and finding a 2nd hand brno/cz with irons at a reasonable price is a bit rare. I had to spend money on the CZ to get a good trigger. Also waiting for the new ruger American rimfire to see if they would suit aswell.

I have one in .17hmr and love it. Yes it is on the heavy side, but that is a good thing in some respects. Mine is pretty accurate considering the average trigger man. Trigger on mine is heavy, but I believe they are adjustable if you want to tinker

    Buy it,,
Or tell me what hunting and fishing its at and ill have 2..
with work on the bolt it will wipe the floor on any 452...
they were marketed in the states as a CZ99, CZ couldn't beat them so put there name to them for the US market.
A gunsmith in the waikato also did very well with his in competition.

Don't loose your mag to one or you will end up like me ,,
spending a whole weekend on your hands and knees crawling along a fence line looking for it. rare as rocking horse shit I tell ya.
