if one has a 270 long action remington,,,, can it be rebarreled to 7mmrm? or will that require a mag action?

I re-barreled my 30/06 to 7mm rem mag. As tui_man2 said, open bolt face, i fitted a sako extractor at the same time, new barrel, you might need a magnum magazine box, think about a new recoil lug, or get your one ground parallel. I didn't have to have the feed rails opened on mine.

Mag box and follower is easy to get from Brownells, get a few measurements from a SAUM or rum rifle and open the rails, open the bolt and fit a new extractor.... Not exactly hard to do but if you have to pay someone to do it all it does add up...

You could get a new 7mmRM barrel & bolt & get it put into your action, I know where there will be a couple available in a short time

You will need to open up the feed rails & possibly a factory Rum windowed or Remmag mag box would be helpful ?

yeh i sorta thought i may as well just buy a new remmy 7mm rm when the need is more than i can bear,,, besides i sold the 270 anyways
