Thread: retail gun prices

Here's what I do when a potential new firearm buyer comes into my shop, if I haven't got the rifle of choice in stock.

I hand them a competitor's very helpful bible & ask the customer to find the rifle of his/her choice in there.
Then I phone the importer ( we all buy from the same suppliers generally) & ask if that rifle is in stock in the caliber of choice????
Get my nett cost price, look at the competitors listed price & knock off as much as I reasonably can. Keeping in mind that the competition in question has many more store than I have & actually gets serious discounts from his suppliers!!!! Which I don't!! ( bugger!!)

Usually the customer goes away happy. Sometimes I can't get the rifle & caliber of choice but I have a couple of alternative suppliers where I can go for plan A & plan B.
