Thread: Rhodesian FN-FAL feat Larry Vickers and Ian McCollum

I have lost count of how many of those FAL i stripped and serviced and then rebuilt, i had one of my own as well. great gun.

Was lucky enough to get my grubby paws on a G3 and a VZ58 as well. towards the end of my time in SA also found and bought a FAL heavy barrel pretty rare gun, stripped and rebuilt it as well but never got a chance to shoot her.

Are those Portuguese or German manufactured G3s?

During the Rhodesian War my dad was on occasion issued a Portuguese manufactured G3, (no doubt donated by the Porraz when they pulled out of Moz). It was not well-liked when compared to the FN FAL they were usually issued. I think from memory the SA Marines were issued with G3s during their short existence. I don't know what country they were manufactured in though.
