1000 yard gongs have always been a goal of mine and I wanted to do a semi custom build to learn the ins and outs of that aspect also. Having the ability to ethically kill out to longer ranges is a bonus in my eyes. I just dont want to feel underscoped on any of my rifles

I just went and had a look at the 2-10 vx5 while on smoko. What a beautiful scope. Be perfect for the 284. Seem to be more expensive nowadays!

Look at what scopes people are successfully using for 1000 yard gongs.

I have a 3-15 SuperSlam on my short 284win, in my opinion it's the perfect mag range for what I use the rifle for (Bush ranges to 500 yards)

Certainly steering towards a zeiss 5-25 or 6-24 for the nosler, 284 can get the 3-15 treatment
