Thread: rifle weights < 4.1kg incl a scope of 500grammes

    So this is a new NRA class an alternative to F and F/TR to enable calibers other than 308 with restrictions to factory unmodified hunting rifles .2 + 5 shot strings. Great initiative. Presumably 300 500 600yd andit could be interesting to try at 800 900 and 1000yd SO you'll need that capability.

    I personally would put a bit more than 500g into a dial up scope and stretch it to 18× if I could. You'll need a bipod . A factory varmint barrel might be more use than a suppressor . The Tikka T3 in 260 is the Obvious choice.

    I wouldn't say the tikka was 'the' obvious choice, but it is a good one.

    Rules say that the scope can only be up to 10x magnification, which is a bit of a bummer.

    Does seem like a great initiative, hopefully can attract more people into target shooting.

    Funny thing is in the ad that ran in NZ Guns there's a photo of me using my 6mm 204 not what I'd call a standard cal hahahaha
    Shoot it, root it & then BBQ it !!!
