    Carry a spare battery?

File up a rhombus section piece of steel to take up the slack in the dovetail

Gonna put a bit of devcon on the base and edge of the ruger sight then lightly sand it down and try and get a tight fit into the dovetail, sight it in then more devcon to hold firmly in place, might work, might not but no permanent modification to the gun.

Well that didn’t work, the angle is different on the dovetail from the ruger sight to the Rossi barrel..back to the drawing board.

Try another sort of iron sight? I'm assuming you have the front sight still fitted, so maybe a Lyman or Marbles rear peep sight?
