    Rossi Puma 92, Action Slicking

I have a few of these in different calibres, acquired over a number of years. I've always known about the utility of slicking the action which under the covers can be rough as guts. Some years ago, when I first looked at it, Lee Gunsmithing (nothing to do with Lee Precision I believe), were a key supplier. Now it appears their doors are permanently closed. Then there also was Palo Verde, but no one has stock anywhere I can find online around the world.

I have no issue with doing the polishing and fettling but I'm not able to make springs, and several are required for e.g. SASS shooting. Yes, the '73 is a better SASS action but also costs x2 or more against the Rossi. Not a lot wrong with the factory Rossi spring set for hunting but for range competition, yeah nah.

Anyway, to the point, does anyone know of a spring set supplier I've missed, or, Nirvana, have a Lee Gunsmithing set they are willing to part with?

Oh, I need a couple of them

Got a spring set from aussie for mine a couple of years back.
    Big difference.
The guy even brought it over in his baggage on a trip here and posted it to me to save postage.
I'll look it up for you if I can find it and get back to you

Ok I have got a couple of leads for kits out of the US and potentially shipping agent.

The kits run at around $40USD for a complete tuneup set for Rossi 92. They weigh about zip so might be worth bringing several into split shipping cost if there is interest. I'll put up a separate thread.

    Looked up my email.
If its mad dog in Australia he was awesome.
There was a couple of springs I didn't change but the hammer spring with the right spacers and the extractor spring transformed it.
Before it would send an empty case miles away. Now they come out and almost drop at your feet

If you wanted something easier to get onshore you can use a century C530 spring for the ejector and I had a custom main spring made for my R92, main spring was 20% less force than the stock one, think it was $50 odd for the custom spring and a only a few dollars for the C530's, way better than stock, probably could of gone lighter on the main spring but its good enough for me not to bother getting a lighter one made.

got the c530 from bunnings (https://www.bunnings.co.nz/century-s...pring_p0198055)

and had the mainspring made by Simply springs, I sent them the measurements of the stock spring via email then called to discuss,
I had 2 made one was 10% reduced and the other 20%, the 20% was good, if you wanted to play around with it Id probably ask for 2 springs aswell, one 20% and maybe another 30% reduced, I seem to recall having 2 springs made wasn't much more than just the one as they have to make a jig for it anyways.

Just found the old quote, price per spring was $15, then a $15 setup fee,
