Thread: rossi single shot issues

I have one of the cheep $299 rossi single shots in 357 mag ive only put 15 rounds through it so far it shoots good but its very hard to close you realy have to slam it and even then sometimes you have to take 2-3 goes at it. It only happens when there is ammo in it closes fine empty


Is this normal will it sort its self out after a few rounds?? Or a fult with the gun or maybe ammo ammo is AE

D, check the headspace, might be a bit under spec.

factory ammo or reloaded?

As above could be a headspace problem.

Fatory ammo mate

If it's highland or similar ammo it could very well be headspace issue. A long time ago I had some packs of highland that only about half the pack could be used and increased in difficulty closing the bolt as you went from one end of the pack to the other.....

What's the ejector like? Does the profile of the rim match the groove machined in the ejector? Is the ejector pinching the rim and leaving a mark on the top of the rim?

seems to fit nice and ejects spent and live rounds nice when I get the dies off you I will full length resize a few cases and see if that changes anything that will tell me if its the ammo or the gun
