Gday. I have a ruger 1022 project. I was wondering how short I can cut Barrel before it messes with the chambering system. Also what other mods have people done.

I've done a load of tinkering over the years with 1022's - they are not renowned for their accuracy, and in my experience cutting a standard barrel down makes matters worse. The minute a standard 'cut' barrel heats they start spraying. If you want a shorty get a heavy bull barrel.
You might want to clarify what you mean.... 'messes with the chambering system'.
Welcome to Sako club.
I've cut a 12ga semi barrel down and once I done that it wouldn't chamber the next load on its own. I'm wondering if the same thing will happen

1022's will still happily operate down to very short barrel lengths - much shorter than required to get to 762, allegedly
Mines 15in and shoots well, any shorter will look funny and the gunsmith reakons that’s the barrel length to burn all powder in a .22,mine is suppressed.
Mintie is right
ive use a 12.5inch barrel that is fully suppressed Bunny Buster made by a guy in Nelson years back
Shoots very well with CCI subsonic wabbits dont complain
Timney trigger stock is a Grey Birch 10/22 chassis scope is an Immersive optics 14 x 50 [zero eye relief]
zeroed @ 75 m [one cross hair down is 100m and one x hair up from zero is 50m ]
Have fun building and testing
