Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

i purchased a 20" stainless model in .308win. i have only shot factory 150gr. Hornady American Whitetail in mine with very good accuracy for a brush rifle (minus 1M.O.A. holes often touching). i have a good Leupold VXR 3X9X40 firedot mounted to the rear
utilizing Ruger's excellent 30MM stainless rings that they sent me upon request on a no charge basis. i don't like forward mount as many of my shots are in low light. my 66 Y.O. eyes are no longer good enough for using the peep sight. if you can't see it you can't kill it. Ruger designed this rifle to accept the Accuracy International Sniper Rifle Mags. i put the bulky Ruger 10 shot steel mag up and bought a Magpul 5 shot Accuracy International style mag which is less cumbersome. this little rifle with the laminated stock is a tough little package.....it is a bit on the heavy side when compared to something like a Tikka T 3, but mine really is an impressive little shooter especially for woods use.

Correction. Mine has an 18" barrel. Please let me stress that i was very surprised at its excellent accuracy with 150 gr. Hornady American Whitetail ammo .......about 2800 fps Hornady interlock bullets. The interlock is death on deer.
