You would need at least a 308 or 30-06 to have enough velocity to get them to mushroom up.
I would like to try the Barnes blackout 110gr, the Americans rave about them but very expensive for knocking goats over. For me the Nosler 125gr BT has been a good all round performer on deer, pigs and goats. I don't really want to start running two lots of supersonic ammo as I am already got three lots of subsonic rounds.
I had a albolt made into a 300blk around 2 years ago,
Very accurate, has accounted for 1100+ headshot kangaroos last year alone.
Shots range from 60-400m
Cheep to reload
Had a break put on it to stop the muzzle wip thats it
"Chokes make differnces in inches and targets are missed by feet."
Im using 115 burgers 2205 powder 19gr
Br4 primers
As we can not sell carcass if its not been headshot i never worried about penetration or expantion.
Most accurate round for my little rifle.
Best thing about it is the size its very easy to move it around the ute.
No surpressers aloud in WA
You can now get them regersted in some eastern states but have been told its alot of effort

10gr or somware round there will give ur 208 '1060 give or take.
Remember published loads are for semis and there piss week due to slam fires.
U can hot them up in a bolt so id agree with ur statement.
I only run 115s and had up to 20.5 gr of 2205 ( big compressed load )
No signs of pressure at all.
Ur better takeing the data from the wisper even tho its a wild cat round its well studied.
Its a great round once you get it working.
