nah a bit too big & heavy for me
The way I see it , is the 6.5CM has been designed to fit in the shortish , AR10/SR25 & M14 mags , which are limiting when you try to load a 260 into that mag , so to me the whole 6.5CM / 260rem , is more about the rifle platform you intend to use it in , ie if using a AR type then better to go 6.5CM , if in say a longer action mag like a AW , then go 260rem .
Here's a link to a NZ dealer
Spoke to him the other day and he says it comes with two 10 rounder Pmags, and gives them a legit reason to mass buy them in to drive down the crazy prices of Pmags here.
Ruger Precision Rifle 308Win - bolt, arstyle, first, ruger, features, barrel, ... - Serious Shooters
Seems like a reasonable price too.
Without starting a long annoying debate, and without doing any research, how much better, if any, is the 6.5CM over the mighty .308WIN?
Better in what sense?
Avaibility of ammo and components, price: 308 wins
Trajectory, wind bucking and recoil: 6.5 creedmoor( similar flying balistics to a 300 win mag with out the nasty recoil)
Accuracy and ease to put together the right load would be equal for both.
I just ordered one in 6.5mm , but the one I want is the 243 .
I quite like the look of them, quite tempted to sell my Savage Tactical .308.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
I think the 243 would make a good varmint gun , as you can use some nice long bullets as it has a tight twist barrel , its a 1-7.7 I think .
Yep, it shouts 105 a-maxes or even 115 smks!
Yeap ,
The 6.5 CM is only streets ahead in the USA , as anywhere else in the World ammo & brass are un-available , I wished I had ordered a 243
Hey @Digit, merry Christmas!
Just curiosity, do you have any news in this toy?
