    Sako 75 vrs 85??

I've seen several references over the past few years to people "preferring" the 75 model over the 85

Its not clear to me why this should be ??

There is hardly any practical difference other than weight. That and the mag on the 85 is slightly harder to lose..

Bolt face differs too I think, lower portion cut out like the Mauser. Personally I prefer the looks of the 85 over the 75.

More differences in the stock design. 75 is Monte Carlo and wood ones are pretty heavy

Can always do what I did a few years back when a fly in roar trip was the first outing for my new 75 and leave the mag at home

mostly about the stock designs I think...

The 85 action got lightened a little more and the detachable mag got a pressure requirement for release to prevent accidental..... happened to me once with a 75. I used to shorten the 75 mag release to prevent it...

@sako75 That stops you killing too many deer:-)
The 75 stock is probably one of the best design of all the modern hunting stocks. The wooden ones were heavy but the more modern carbon ones from McMillan and others sorted the weight out.

The recoil lug on the 85 is better than the 75. And the 85 is generally better finished.
