You wouldn't be saving much weight wise but the fluting looks great and that's good enough reason to do it if you want to. Will be sending my Finnlight and Tikka bolt to get fluted next week.

I have a few rifles with fluted bolts and they are like magnets for those little mountain beech leaves, doesn't affect how they function or anything but I hunt mainly tops, minimal time in the bush/scrub but still the wee buggers manage to get into my action and mag

I’m the opposite I’m in the bush 90% of the time mainly because of the hound wanting QCB action. Yeah I know what you mean about the little mountain beech leave, every day or two stripping the rifle down cleaning the rubbish out of the barrel channel and action etc.
If I was only tops hunting or having a dedicated long range Tahr/Chamois rifle yeah I would flute the bolt and barrel.
Pretty much all my shooting is tops so I just bundled up & couriered out my bolt to gunworks for fluting. Thanks to those who contributed information
Just got my bolt back from Gunworks. I'm an anal retentive fussy b%&$tard - all I can say is wow. Beautiful work, great service - another very happy gunworks customer.
