    Just do it
It will make an awesome shooter my 6.5 finlight 2 was just on 4k with the big z8 on it and DPT so you should be around 3.8 - 4.0 kg

All you're doing is chasing fractions. If you were to put your effort into destroying the dreaded red plaque in the Ruahines then you will be assured of a gong in your old age by the nz govt.

Chasing fractions is fun and plenty of other people here enjoy it too - hence they are actually helpful. Do my bit every time i’m in the Ruahines - don’t need more gongs though.

Bought the Sako. Will probably just go straight to a re barrel as it would be expensive in itself to setup to load 300 WSM with dies, brass, projectiles etc when I already have everything I need for 7mm SAUM.

Arriving late. I converted a 270WSM Sako A7 to 300Saum by just a barrel swap. Works perfect. Didnt touch a thing. Im sure yours will be the same.

It's not about fractional improvements, it's about fun. Be a joygerm.

Stagstalker, is the 7mm SAUM barrel on your Remington able to be screwed or slightly modified to thread onto your new Sako and perhaps the .300 WSM barrel put onto the Remington?

Would be a cheaper way to get what your wanting then onsell the Remington

That would have worked bloody well if it could be done. The Remington is sold now unfortunately - definitely questioning my sanity saying goodbye to that rifle. It has been on some epic trips with me and is a damn good shooter. Excited for the Sako though!
