Yes, that can be an issue with any rings that don't have plastic inserts such as the Optilocks and Burris Signature rings. However, I've always lapped such rings and even wrapped a single layer of Scotch Magic Tape (sellotape) around the scope tube and never had a problem with scope marks with any scope. Even do this with .22 rings.

Certainly nothing wrong with Optilocks but personally find them way overpriced for what they are and too heavy if you're trying to reduce weight and no longer use them. Had one set of 30mm Optilocks that were badly aligned height wise front from back and had to exchange them.

Certainly a plus Bevan and will overcome small alignment issues but won't correct rings that are badly out of alignment which is not always easy to determine by just relying on the plastic inserts. Personally always lap rings but can understand why some or even most wouldn't bother as it's time consuming.

Managed to sneak 4-16x50 on a Tikka Superlight with them with minimal clearance.
