Thread: Sako A1 .223 barrel twist rate

Afternoon all,

Just wondering if anyone is able to shed some light on the barrel twist rate on a Sako A1 .223? Did they have different twist rates or is it likely to be 1-12”?

Any help would be much appreciated.

All I have come across & own are 1:12 from factory.

I have an old A-1 in .223, and it is a 1-12 twist. The newer 85 Varmint stainless have various twist rates. The one I have has a 1-8 twist.
