Thread: Sako A11 scope mounting

Ahh you need the 2-7 Kahles... or Leupy or Optilock rings...

The callipers have been out to confirm a few things:

The scope is a 25.4mm tube
The rings are definitely 25.4mm – despite the markings on the bases!

I’d like a touch more clearance if I can and I will keep an eye out for a scope with a smaller objective.

In the meantime, would there be any issues in shimming the underside of the scope ring with a bit of tape or aluminium can?

Consider high "see thru" rings, though they spoil the aesthetic imo, but you might be fine with it.

Never a problem seeing the barrel or irons at low magnification, just ignore. All dangerous game big bores are like this when on 1x or 1.5x.
And when its up to 4x plus not usually visible. Ergonomics/cheek weld stuffed with higher rings. Different for a target rifle with adjustable comb.
