Running the ejector at 6 o’clock was a huge design flaw from Sako imo. Yet I still have two so I’m obviously prepared to put up with it. Retrofitting a plunger ejector in the bolt face would likely cure the problem, but I haven’t heard of anyone offering that fix.
Interesting. I’ve got a couple of short action 85s, one of which I‘ve owned for 12 years, and I’ve never had a problem. They eject reliably regardless of how quick the bolt is cycled

They are beautiful things alright, but over 3 x the cost of a T3 with the same barrel and weight in magnum chambering. Sorry, I just don’t get it.

For about the same money you could have a custom action, Bartlein cut rifled barrel, carbon stock and Jewell trigger plus smithing to screw it all together. For half the money you could buy a new T3 and stick it in a carbon stock like Shearer did.

Well, I can, but I won’t as we all make our own choices (and I like Sako rifles too).

I went down the custom route and it cost me about the same.

Same here. The ejection problem is confined to the longer actions and not all of them do it. There is a YouTube video of a guy who claims a fix for the issue.

I bet you won't find a carbon stock remotely comparable to the Sako Carbonlite one for durability and strength.

After watching the videos it makes me want another Sako. The finnlite I had the only issue was the trigger mechanism filled up with fine dust stopping it from firing.

I spent the money and got a neopod bipod for it too . Will weigh it tonight with the bolt in and a full mag and report back . Off to shoot it Sunday

Those brakes make the 7mm bloody awful to shoot. Better to go bare. Or
I use a light weight 4 baffle DPT.

I dont mind them . I had a similar brake on a 7mm rum for a long time and it never gave me any trouble . Just sticking with a brake rather than a supressor as the whole idea was to be super lightweight set up . Im not interested in retrieving any deer past 700 yds these days
