    Sauer 101 or tikka t3x?

    Gday,

Could use some of your help! I'm in doubt what to do. I've got a Sauer 202 7x64 with a swarovski z6i 2-12x50 in my gun safe in europe. It's a real pain in the ass to import that thing to NZ. So im tempted to buy a new/second hand rifle. This rifle i want to set up for longer range hunting and want to use it for all the big game animals on the south island. So i think a 7mm rem mag would do the job. With all this in mind i'm in doubt between a NZ classic Tikka t3x or a Sauer 101. When available i would like to set it up with a Swarovski z5i 3.5-18x44. Could you guys help me break down the differences between the Tikka t3x and Sauer 101. Both good rifles but i havent used them both so i'm keen to learn how they compare to each other.

    Cheers!

Get yourself a tikka and get on with it. So many being used in NZ they must be pretty good!

Bring the 202 out to NZ, you will disappointed with 101 or T3 after using 202

Add the Mauser M18 to your list, its practically identical to the Sauer 101. But I tend to agree with @empire safaries, none of the suggestions are even close to your 202. It isnt hard to import a rifle, so maybe you'll get your 7x64 eventually. If this happened you'd have two of the same thing ballistically . . . So maybe consider something like a 6mm CM/fast twist 243 to fill a slightly different niche. Heck maybe a 223, youll get a lot of use for it in NZ once you start shooting pests like goats and wallabies.

Yes as the boys have said above you won't be happy with a T3 or 101 ( although better than the absolute POS 100 ) after such a nice rifle as a 202

Tikka's work n shoot & yes are very popular in NZ, just like Sheep in "Gods Own" both are boring, plentiful & all look the same

There was a really nice 202 in Wilson's Outdoors in Wanganui last time I was there ( in 270 unfortunaly but would do everything you require ) been on the rack for a while so hit tight arse Jason up for a deal

PS - I also have a basically brand new 3.5 - 18 x 44 Z5 I'm putting on the market soon, hit me up if ya keen

Sounds good, thanks. I'm gonna hit Jason up! a 270 would do the job as well.

I'm definitely interested in the scope. Is it the illuminated one? Let me know what you would like to get for it!

    Cheers!

true, it isnt hard. It just takes a lot of time unfortunately. I'm in the final stage of the firearms license. The day i recieve it i wanna hit the hills with a rifle haha.

A 6.5creedmore would be good. Absolute killer of a caliber

I’d get the z6 posted out to NZ. Won’t cost a lot and Having a good spare scope on the bench is never a negative.
