    Savage 230 .22 Hornet

I've been looking around for a cheap .22 Hornet and found a Savage 230. I have no knowledge of that model or whether its a beefed up rimfire or proper centrefire action, its described as being in good condition and priced cheaply, cannot get to handle it as it's out of state, anyone heard of them?

Rear locking beefed up rimfire type. Side mounted 'scope.

Must be strong enough though because the B model came in 30-30 and 222.

    I google'd the above.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Walther is a beefed up rimfire as is the Anschutz 1530 the only front locker is the CZ and early Brno, I have an old Sportco .22 Hornet can not recommend,
A friend has a Walther Hornet very nice gun don't worry about the RF actions they are strong enough I am having my Anschutz 1530 .222 converted to 300 BLK

I have an old Savage 23D in 22 Hornet. Be selling it soon as I splashed out on a BRNO. Lucky me! I've been taking hares with the Savage from 75m offhand to 150m with a rest (strainer post). Lovely old rifle originally a few bucks from JC Penny's I believe. Accurate because barrel and action are one piece of steel so not a great proposition for rebarreling. Too many rifles, too few years.
I know a lot but it seems less every day...

Thanks for the info @shooternz the Walther in Cairns has sold, waiting now on a reply from one in Queensland with twin set triggers looks pretty CZ'ish actually, otherwise I might just get a new Ruger 77/17.

the pooger 77 action does well with shortening
I like my 44 magnum one and the timney trigger parts made the trigger great
