I think a 4-12 is enough but nothing wrong/everything better with 3-15 I’m using a 10 power on my 708 and hitting a 4” plate at 400 VX3-hd for me I’d rather a finer reticle though at 400 I have 4 tiny bits of white on that gong for each corner. 4-12x50BT Z3 4W would be my pick or VX-5 3-15 duplex or even better the mill version in htmr I think it is

I put a Bushnell Elite 2.5-10x on my Howa Mini. Makes it a very versatile wee rifle. Pretty much covers all the bases for me

I run a 2-7 leupold on my .222 hardly moves of 3 for most hunts but shots are normally within 150 metres - I have a bushnell om my 308. and love that I really like a scope now with an adjustable eyepiece - makes getting a good clear view target shooting easy as - would not buy a scope now without that feature - like the GPO scopes and the Vixen look the part - always been a leupold fan but the lack of adjustment now a pain - I believe only the VX5 has that feature
