Most guys will never use it at the top or bottom, it has 120+ moa elevation.

Someone spending that kind of money on a scope would surely be doing it because they want and intend to use all of that el adjustment?

Is there any issue getting it replaced/repaired/evaluated by Nightforce under warranty? At that price you would think the warranty would be pretty extensive.

I tried FFP, sodding joke. FFP (IMHO) is a purely long range optic solution, no good up close even with 'sensible' reticle design whatever that is (unless you are shooting to incapacitate a man-size target or immobilise a chunk of machinery). If you are using it for hunting type situations, and an up-close shot pops up that requires accuracy (such as parking a round amongst some foliage or other obstruction) it's very much a spray/pray proposition which defeats the point of spending all that cash on a precision solution.

The scope I tried wasn't cheap, had one of those fancy 'sensible' reticles - but that damn thing would cover about 75mm of the target up close on the smallest magnification (5x from memory) - on the highest mag forget it. I'm not bagging a scope brand so I won't name it as it was in every other respect perfect. I would have been happy to have it in SFP except I couldn't get one... If you are sending it or using it for non-lethal applications, great...

I'm sorry, are you complaining about a FFP reticle covering TOO MUCH of the target at close range on low power?

It shrinks the view, but is it still accurate and usable?
