    I would be looking at something with a high top end mag for shooting little critters at distance. A fine reticle wouldn't go amiss either.

    I got a meopta last week 6-18x50 $1150 you may find one cheaper if you shop around , compared to the leupolds I have its much clearer & a bit lighter haven't put it through its paces quite yet but if your in the shop its well worth a look.

    Thanks chaps, sorted for now. Going with the Zeiss HD5 3-15 with turrets.

    Do you want to try the 5x25? Could swap if the 3x15 suited my 260 and the 5x25 suited your 223? What size objective is the 3x15?

    SWFA are now exporting their line of SS scopes..

    I brought in a 3-15x42 - mil/mil ffp recently... check out their website

    Mine is just the straight Viper, 6.5 - 20. Great for the money , I think it was $975.

    Don't rule out the humble Bushnell 6500 2-5-16x42. These often come up for around $800 or less second hand.

    I have sighted in a rifle with it. Appears predictable and repeatable.. havent done a comprehensive around the houses with it yet or extended range dialling. Glass is clear and bright, quite like the reticle. They seem to review pretty well per the interweb... looking promising..
