Yes, put mine on my berg xt hunter 308 and it was too bulky for my liking. Ended up with 3-10 kahles on it.
Interesting to see that as the Bergara EH in .308 is high on my list. How did it feel setup? Have you got a pic of the Kahles for comparison?

It's a great one inch tube option
Lifetime warranty - take a bashing and holds true.
Illuminated + I like the reticle
Nearly half the price of a VX5i (also can pick them up on here every now and then)
    Underrated glass IMO
More elevation adjustment than VX5 (80moa vs 72moa)
    Parallax @ 25m - good enough for bush (Vx5 is 50m)
    Push/pull and zero-stop locking turrets
Eye relief is ok.. if you're at high mag you might have more time - haven't used a VX5 on 15x, only up to 7x

Not trying to talk you into it - just my decision making process on a bush gun that'll still shoot out to... far enough

Depends on primary application.. I run a V4 on .223 & V6 on 7RM - both great, but have different requirements

As nick said - There’s no right or wrong here, just what’s right for you.
Yeah, I had a look at one of these from Burris in person. Seems like it fits the criteria well which is why it's in the list. On the guns, yes, you're right, and the T3x is competing with Bergara B14 EH in my head for top spot. Probably make another post relating to that haha.

The one thing that put me off the Burris was its stupidly massive Parralax turret. A lot of scopes on the market now with illumination hide all the electric electrickery in the parallax turret and it makes them annoying when carrying the rifle on a sling and they just look a bit naf in my opinion.

    270 is a harmonic divisor number[1]
270 is the fourth number that is divisible by its average integer divisor[2]
270 is a practical number, by the second definition
The sum of the coprime counts for the first 29 integers is 270
270 is a sparsely totient number, the largest integer with 72 as its totient
Given 6 elements, there are 270 square permutations[3]
    10! has 270 divisors
270 is the smallest positive integer that has divisors ending by digits 1, 2, …, 9.

I'm with you there, I brought the Burris HD 3-15 without the illumination way nicer looking and more compact

Yes there are lighter cheaper scopes but you will never regret the rugged reliable repeatable mantra of NF.

The South Island side of it would be few and far between, sadly and regarding the 600yd distance I meant that for at the range and practice, not animals
If that's the case....why not two scopes??? Dedicated hunting scope and dedicated range scope therefore allowing what you want and none of what you don't at the time. If four hundy yards is it for hunting and deer main target, you aren't going to need more than nine power. And realistically shouldn't need to dial. If it holds zero job done, just guestimate holdover or mil dot?? You can use whatever suits for the range... And I hear screams of he will need to resight each time he swaps scopes....well you will already be at the range,if scope is put back in rings in same place it's not going to be much of a problem to rezero at all,if needed at all.

I agree. The extra 200 grams is trophy's in the bank. Took me many years to click onto these scopes but I reckon they are the business.

Hi Caliberwalker, marked improvement weight wise and balance. The bergs are a good option if not a tad heavier than the Tikkas. I installed an an aftermarket floor plate and now it's a flush 5 shot. The bergs def shoot.

I would suggest a 2-10 or 2-12 for General hunting with a 308. Thats like an open sights shot at 50 mtr on a deer size target. Your not shooting rabbits.
Unless you do a lot of hunting you need to keep it simple or you get caught out.

My last hunt was a goat hunt on cut over forestry, I started out prone then moved to seated back against a stump and using my knee for suport on the edge of a Hauler site shooting down hill. We started at 1-200 mtr then and a mob pop up at 10 mtr running across infront of me. Getting the 4-16x scope wound down and I forgot the parallex (focus) meant I could not see or find the goats clearly in the scope so just shot both eyes open.
To be fair I would have been better off with a diffferent rifle, my lever action with a 2-10 scope or 22wmr semi with 1-4 scope.
Point being we went expecting a longer range hunt and ended up shooting most of the 50 goats at less than 50 mtr.
