    Scope for P14 .303

Hi Guys, I am thinking of using my P14 303 to get my first deer. I have purchased a scope mounting kit from Brownells which offers weaver mount in between the bunny ears. I was hoping someone would be able to recommend some scopes for me to look at. I want to be able to shoot up to 600m in my service rifle shooting so the scope would need to be able to have decent magnification I guess. My budget is no more that $1k. The rifle is fully wooded also. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers Brad

A good no3 will do 1 3/4MOA at best, a T3 3/4moa and be better at hunting IMHO.

I would suggest going and buying a gun and scope package.

eg., .300 win mag Tikka T3 | Trade Me

PS For Wellington Service rifle its original irons only BTW.

the trouble is you aren't going to have a stable base to mount a large scope.I had a similar setup on mine but I had a small weaver k4 and I don't reckon it would withstand hacking through the bush.Few P14s were converted to snipers but they had a base bolted on to the left of the action so you could still use stripper clips.

Its tricky to hold the camera and rifle and line the two up on the target

Yeah it would be. I guess the only easy way would be to have a Go Pro on a mount or something similar. Bloody good shot though. I am fairly accurate with my iron sights but want a good scope on it to have a go long range. I think it is a very capable gun but want to test that!
